Dinner......and a FUNNY story!!

I should begin by saying we had a great day today! We had baseball practice for Kyle and the team was short on coaches, so Andrew was a great sport and helped out as a catcher for pitching practice. You could tell it was killing him not to be playing, though! He is a true sports nut and it shows.
Anyway, before leaving the ballpark, Joey said "Mrs. Shepherd, what's for dinner?" I told him we were having turkey tenderloins, rice and green beans. He very kindly told me he doesn't think he likes turkey. I told him I thought he would like my turkey and off we went. Fast forward to dinner. I served the meal to everyone, keeping in mind that I had left over hamburgers in case Joey didn't like the turkey. Man, he gobbled (no pun intended) his dinner so fast!! Once he finished it, he said, "No offense, but I liked your turkey." HAHA I replied to him "No offense taken and thank you!"
Everyone finished dinner quickly, EXCEPT my Jacob. Hmmph! :(

Here is how that exchange went:

JACOB: "Can I be finished? I'm full."
MOM: "No, you may not, you didn't eat your green beans."
JACOB: "But I'm full."
MOM: "Finish your green beans, Jacob, or you will go straight to bed with no play time."
JOEY: "Eat your vegetables, Jacob. If you eat them they'll make you taller......SERIOUSLY, one day you'll be tall as me. Just eat 'em. How do you think I got so tall?"

I don't know if it was Joey's "talk" or my threat of no playtime, but he finally finished his green beans and got to play before bed time. I wonder if he'll be any taller when he wakes up.
